Network Engineer
Salary Range: SGD3,000 – SGD4,500
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Network Engineer to join our team. As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for providing L2 tech support and diagnosing problems through onsite or remote troubleshooting. You will install, configure, troubleshoot, and support (after-sales) networking & network security equipment (major brands) and provide technical support and network consultancy service from time to time. You will also maintain network documentation and oversee customers’ requirements and translate them into feasible solutions &/ or designs.
Responsibilities:
- Install, support, and maintain hardware and software network infrastructure according to best practices including routers, switches, wireless access controllers/points, firewalls, etc.
- Evaluate existing network equipment and/ or users’ needs to analyze, design, recommend and implement system changes
- Adapt and support enhancement and change to network configurations, whenever deemed necessary
- Support technical needs in the company and/ or client’s environment through the integration of new and existing technologies
- Assist enterprise solution/ sales team in joint calls with working business partners & technology key vendors in products demo, PoC sessions, sit-down discussions, site surveys, attending site briefings, etc. for project-related meetings
Requirements:
- Knowledge of network topology
- Ability to configure major brands of firewall devices
- Ability to configure major brands of endpoint protection software
- Ability to setup/ manage network switches (e.g. configure VLAN and L2 switching)
- Ability to setup/ manage wireless network devices
- Advantage if you have good knowledge of enterprise network equipment & network security – including technical presales pitching &/ or hands-on experience
- Advantage if you have good knowledge of WAN networks: MPLS VPN and IPsec VPNs, SSL
- Diploma/ Degree in Information Technology IT/ Telecommunication / Computer Engineering or relevant IT certifications
- Prefer someone (but not a must) with Cisco CCNA/ CCNP certificate or another equivalent network certificate
- Min. 3 years of expertise in implementation/administering and troubleshooting network and IT infrastructure equipment
- Must be resourceful and able to take initiative in a dynamic environment
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to handle documentation and explain network and IT architecture
- Advantage if a candidate from a similar industry/ worked in an SI environment
- An added advantage if the candidate has system infra knowledge experience
- Being well-versed in firewalls e.g. Fortinet, Sonicwall will be a major advantage
- Proficiency in Mandarin for dealing with Mandarin-speaking clients
